Two Kids In School, Cymplified!

And then all three of them next year! So fast! I wonder what a SAHM does when all her kids are in school…

  • Do things that contribute to fulfilling dreams?
  • Get a job online?
  • Finally clean up all clutter?

If you are one and in this situation, please enlighten me. :-)

Dear Father Time,

Please slow down, especially where my children are concerned. Although it’s physically tiring to be a mom of little ones, I enjoy this stage where I can still pick them up, hug them and plant kisses on their soft cheeks. They still are eager to listen to me and they love to hang out on my lap sometimes. Being sweet and playful make them so endearing! This phase is my chance to make a positive impact on my kids and build a foundation of love & faith.

Sincerely yours,
a mother of three

Last June 23, school started for my eldest. She is in Grade One. Grade One! Can you believe it? I’m a mom to a gradeschooler! Ella had on her new uniform and went to her class with mostly new classmates. It seems she’s adjusting well, except when she met her teachers. She said that there were so many of them! In Kinder, I think they had only two or three teachers, one of them is for Chinese. So far, she’s doing okay, I just hope more homework wouldn’t cause this fun-loving girl to be burnt out.

My boy, Caleb, started school on Friday of that same week. I admit I was a bit anxious about him sitting still, about him listening to the teacher in Nursery class and about him interacting with his classmates. You see, he’s a tad too playful. It’s not wrong to be so, but in a school like his, not everything is fun and games. Although, I believe that kids also learn when playing.

ready for school, I hope!

What I like about having kids in school and personally tutoring them is that I get to learn with them all over. I help them see the practical applications of their lessons in our everyday life and in our surroundings. Although, it’s difficult and frustrating, I get to know and marvel at their interests.

With these two kids in school, I am left in the company of my youngest, my baby Cayla. I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s okay if she doesn’t want to attend nursery yet. I am still enjoying her toddlerhood.

My three children aren’t perfect, they fight at times and are sometimes stubborn, but being a mother is a huge part of my life right now and in my heart they will always be, whether they’re in school or not.

Cayla gave me the leash of our pet dog, saying, “Hold this. Don’t let go, okay?” My heart responded, “I won’t let go of my love for the three of you, little ones.”

Sometimes (or always!) we just wish they’d slow down! Sigh. Your kids are adorable in their uniforms! I can’t help but wonder what it’ll be like when my son starts school.
